David Greenhalgh is a remix artist who creates short video essays about issues of social and political power; our ways of perceiving the world; and what the future may hold. The aim of David’s practice is to extend a hand to the future, through acting as a bricoleur of the past.
Recent solo exhibitions include the eyes of the power company at 55 Sydenham Rd (2018), essai at FELTspace (2017), disinformation at Kings ARI (2015), memoryformatshift at Archive_ (2015), 40:01 at Firstdraft (2014) & verkenntniss at Kudos Gallery (2014).
He was a cofounding director of Archive Space, an artist run initiative that operated with the aim of documenting emerging Sydney practices (2013-2015). David was also a management and editorial board of Runway Australian Experimental Art: Here he acted as archivist, relocating the 12 year history of the publication for digitisation and co-edited Issue #35 SPACE.
In his spare time he works in museums, previously as a program producer and educator for the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, Sydney and currently as a curatorial assistant/archivist at the National Gallery of Australia.
